i feel pretty
I did it! The cardigan I was rambling on about in this post here and here is completed, buttons added, and just in time for Fall weather.
It is amazing how one item of clothing can lift your spirits. I feel warm and cozy when I wear my new hand knitted cardigan. The color (so I’ve been told by a handful of people…and if more than 3 people say the same thing then it is true) really compliments my skin tone. And I am so happy that it is now in the “FO” pile, ready at my choosing for me to wear.
Pattern: Sedum by Jane Richmond
Yarn: Cascade Eco+ in Pacific (roughly 1.5 skeins, give or take a yardage or two)
Needles: Size 9 for ribbing size 10 for body
Mods: Elizabeth Zimmermann’s phoney seam, added 1 more raglan increase, worked short row shaping across the back bottom in ribbing, and obviously worked in stockinette stitch rather than the required seed stitch (I love seed stitch but my raglan increases and the seed stitch pattern were not agreeing with each other the first three times I tried)
Notes: Absolutely love this!! It is warm but not too warm, soft which surprised me considering Eco+ is 100% wool, and fits perfect! One note I would add is that when I soaked my sweater the color bled a little bit. Just an FYI if you would want to combine this color with say white yarn or other light colored yarn.
Oh I love this cardigan! I love it so much! And very grateful I live in Ohio where cold weather last anywhere from 5-6 months out of the year!!
