Thrifting

There’s no doubt about it that I love to go thrifting.  Who knows the exact reason why I love it but to me it’s finding awesome things for dirt cheap.

Case in point, I had a mentioned to James that I was going thrifting today and had a good feeling about it.  Well, I always follow my gut instinct and now I know why.

I found 3 vintage wrap skirts that were just to cute to pass up.  Far right one has some strawberry applique on it, the middle one has nice pockets, and the closest one has a funny story about it.  All have been washed and were hanging out to dry.

It was in where they keep all there aprons and kitchen-y stuff.  It was even marked on the tag as a “large apron”.  Now, when I fully open up this wrap skirt it’s about my arm span.  Also, please keep in mind that I’m definetly not trying to be cruel, but I just though it was a little funny that someone actually mistaken this wrap skirt as an apron.

Of course there is always fabric to be found at the thrift store.  Some for K. (the bright and colorful pink one), the red woven I’m not sure what I’m going to do with just yet, nor am I sure how much is there, going to be washing these up tomorrow.  Then some great flowery corduroy fabric (again, not sure how much is there but I do know it’s a good chunk) that I’ll probably make some Fall pants for the girls with.

L. found this cute blanket that she really wanted.  I’m going to use it for the bottom of her wagon (it’s a Radio Flyer and that metal gets pretty cold on little legs).  I was surprised that she wanted it because it wasn’t purple.  But she did inform me that it was because “it’s all flowerery” (yes, it’s misspelled but that’s how she says it).

Last up (as I was ready to leave, it almost jumped out at me) is this very nice wooden platter that was Hecho en Mexico (that’s what is stamped on the back of it).  You can’t tell from the picture but the design is burned in there with a wood burning tool.  It now sits on my living room coffee table and holds our remotes.

Along with all these goodies, I also got the girls some summer clothes and a nice comphy jammie/around the house top for myself because I think James is tired of seeing my froggie “My Pad Or Yours” shirt (yes, that is what the shirt says, K. picked it out for me one day when we were out and about.  Grown woman and I dress like a 3 year old sometimes).
